WORSHIP MUSIC LEADER

Young graduated from NC State University in 2013 with degrees in Biological Science and Spanish Language & Literature with plans to go to medical school. However, God led her instead to serve in ministry at a local church plant which then led to her serving overseas in Malaysia (2015-2017) as the youth director Faith Methodist Church. Upon her return to the States, she became engaged and married to Kelvin. Young also returned to school to pursue nursing and graduated from NC A&T University in 2020 with her BSN. 

 

Young and her husband Kelvin started attending Waypoint Fall 2018 shortly after their marriage in hopes to find a new home church. They soon became members and volunteered with the youth group, choir and worship team. Young’s volunteer role in the worship team turned into a staff position as the needs of Waypoint Church were increasing. 

 

Since being at Waypoint, Young and Kelvin’s family has grown. They have a beautiful daughter Moriah “Momo” who loves to be present for all Waypoint worship music. Young and Kelvin feel very blessed to call Waypoint church their family. When Young isn’t working a nurse shift or chasing Momo around the house, you can find her cooking, baking or trying to create a new homemade ice cream.
