English as a Second Language Ministry
English as a Second Language Ministry (ESL) Saturdays in the Fall, starting September 10 8:30 – 11:30 am Church of the Good Shepherd
The English as a Second Language (ESL) Ministry will begin the fall session with volunteer orientation and training on Saturday, September 10.
Classes begin on Saturday, September 17 and run through Saturday, November 19.
There are opportunities to be teachers, assistant teachers, conversation partners, work in hospitality, and volunteer with child care.
The Church of the Good Shepherd is the host location for this ministry to refugees (primarily from Oak Creek Village) and immigrants from around the area. During the past six years volunteers from six local churches have provided ESL services to students from Mexico, Latin America, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
Volunteers need to have a passion for helping adults and be available all, or nearly all (at least 80%), scheduled Saturday mornings 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
