Genia Holder-Cozart
CHOIR DIRECTOR
Genia and her family have been members of Waypoint Church since its launch in 2014. Wife, mother, grandmother, dog mother and all out worshipper of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ best describes her. Genia was born in Durham, NC and although she has lived in other states, God saw fit for her to come back and meet her husband Timothy whom she married in 1995. They have five children, four daughters: Mercedes, Qualia, Kezia and Isoke. One son, Sean, and grandson Nikolas.

Genia has a BS in Organizational Management from Saint Augustine’s College in Raleigh, NC, a Historical Black College and University (HBCU). She also has a MS in Organizational Leadership from Regent University, Virginia Beach, VA and a MA in Interior Architecture from Academy of Arts in Sacramento, CA.

To say that Genia loves worship music is an understatement. She has performed with many choirs and has toured abroad singing with Eric Dozier and One Human Family, leading the album title cut, God Is Good. She sings enthusiastically on the worship team here at Waypoint on various Sundays.

Prior to coming to Waypoint Church Genia also served on the Worship Team and sung in the choir at Summit Church. As a choir director, Genia has served and worked with her home church Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist and copious other churches and community outreaches for more than 20 years!
